"Charging Ahead"
It isn't a race, but still you
look for the finish line, the mark
that says, this work is done,
will hold no more paint
scraped, spread, loaded. layered,
pressed, paired, plucked, played,
splattered, seized the paint
splattered, seized the paint
will go no farther.
You find the finish line, a dash
or two between obstacle and doubt,
vision, prayer,
or slow recognition:
"done" you might say,
"this one will stay".

Just So, She Came Around
