I used to have a very active art journaling practice,
but the last couple if years not so much.
Although I've continued to do art in more than
several books at a time, it is usually on the back
burner where I go to stir things up once in awhile.

Thanks to Orly Avineri's "A Stand For Art Journaling" group
on FaceBook, I have dug up some of my
over thirty art journals and altered books,
and found some pages long forgotten,
but still fresh in their "messages".
I like a quote that I found somewhere: "Do something today
for your future self". Art journaling is just that. Striving for honesty,
spontaneity, and even companionship, the art journal page,
although not always successful, still records a snapshot of
my current self on the day it is made.
I have journals with themes, some for issues I want
to clarify, some just for fun.
I have one altered book of "found poetry".
I wish I had done more, but there is always another book, another day.
Orly's group has become a dynamic and inspiring place to find lots of
artists who art journal. I have found myself returning
to the practice of a daily practice with a renewed sense
of what is possible, and the goal of dialoguing with my inner self.
Some of my entries are too personal to post there,
but it has opened me to exploring my "depths",
and hopefully, leaving a bit of inspiration for a future self.

Hello there... thank you for submitting your found poetry to Found Poetry Friday, the poem is wonderful and a bit disturbing (which i like!) Your art journal pages are beautiful and full of meaning, I especially love the "She lost her head..." page. I do hope you keep on journaling and exploring the possibilities both on the outside (page) as on the inside (yourself/mind)... I find Art Journaling does that and I learned many lessons from it. Enjoy your weekend!
Your pages are so beautiful and profound. I hope I can learn to express myself more through journaling, it is more of an artistic relief for me, the "writing" part is very scary yet.
