Handmade Books: In Process

I am in the process of making several handmade books.
I've begun working on this one, 3 signatures of 4 spreads each,
8 by 12 inches. I'm using hand painted papers that I hope
to do some ink drawings over. Who knows where it will go though.

Waiting for stitchery! I'm using the sewing machine
to sew in the papers.

I'm hoping to find a not sew hard stitch to bind it together
and then finish off with a cover.

I've had cardboard from cereal boxes cut and gessoed for ages
and finally decided an accordion book  would be a good project
for them: 16  5 by 6.5 pages. I'm looking forward to painting
this up!

This is a small 4 by 6 book stitched up from 7 studio sleeves.
I haven't decided what to make of it, but I believe the saying,
"if you make it , they will come...." or
if you make the structure,  something will materialize, ideas
will come.

I made a prayer flag garland for the scrub oak grove
outside my study window at Cinnamon.
I no longer pray for world peace as it seems an unreachable
utopian state for humanity. Instead, I pray for global sanity,
common sense for common good.

great minds think alike, my thoughts have been turning to book making too... and painting... glad you liked the shot of the water with the grasses, I am thinking of doing a series of abstracts based on water... your cereal concertina is awesome!

Thanks so much for your warm and encouraging words Mary Helen!

Cat, your new abstract series sounds wonderful! Maybe we can compare notes on the book making! Thanks!
