A Perpetual Search

I found Tony Bennett's book on clearance at Barnes & Noble...it felt like a gift! It is a very enjoyable read and the art photos are like a visual journal of his life. And it comes with a CD! How cool is that? I like his art. It has a jazzy feeling of faraway places accessed only by poetry and song. Bennett says: "You see for me it's simple---the love of painting. I would call it recreation. It's the love of painting. I don't like to have someone say 'Paint this.' I'm not into that. I just paint what I like, and I'm in a perpetual search for what I'm looking for."

Me too Tony! I paint what I love and am always in a perpetual search for beloveds.

I like this quote from the book: "The more you paint, the more you realize how beautiful life is. To be alive. How wonderful life is, what a gift we have. That helps you get past the bad times."

Bravo-- I think everyone should paint what they want to paint-- not let outside influences like sales, or friends, or the inner critic take over

Isn't that the truth! Art does help us see how beautiful life is. Thanks for this review Marie.
