Walls of Inspiration

Seth Apter over at The Altered Page has invited us all to share our "Walls of Inspiration". This is mine at the studio. I have not changed it for far too long. Reminds of the story of Picasso hanging paintings upside down so that he could continually "see" the work anew, in a different context than the norm without taking it for granted. I still like the images on my board: a postcard from an artist show, poster for the "11th Hour" movie, & some of own my work. But this "exercise" has reminded me to put up what is most inspirational at the moment instead of what caught my attention quite awhile ago! (Sigh!)

This is my "Sacred Wall of Inspiration" on the wall across from my desk & computer in my study. It is the first thing I see in the morning, the last thing I see when I turn off the computer for the night. Some of things have been gifts & some my own work. All engage me in thoughts of the "other side." Ancestral connections, parentage, Goddess images, heart prompts. It is the most meaningful collection that I "witness" day to day.

This is a detail of my "Sacred Space". Two images of Our Lady of Sorrow who never fails to speak to me of compassion. The Lilly plant is especially symbolic for me, reminding me of the miracle of transformation possible with every ending.

Your board and your wall are so wonderful. Love the piece on the dictionary page in the first photo. And their is so much spirit to be found on the wall you wake up to!
