I have "rebound" my handmade book into a repurposed hardcover from
a "gutted" book. (See post before last for "before" photos.)
The pages are a tad oversized for the cover on purpose!
I like the look of a handmade book with overflowing pages.
I still need to paint or do something with the linen cover that is
a sort of yellowish green, but that will come in due time.
The pages are a series of hand painted or "blotted" papers,
all machine stitched. Some of the pages are finished I think,
but some have lots of white space for journaling,
sketching or scrawling.
This is the first page. The binding is apparent at the center of the book.
I also finished binding the little book from studio covers that
I talked about in the "Handmade Books: In Process" post.
I sewed in a library book pocket into each one with a
Borrowers Card inside each of them. I still don't have
plans for the artwork/embellishment, something literary
seems forthcoming!
