Mandala Making

It has been almost two weeks since I've been in the studio;
just too much going on in the summer: family obligations, gardening,
and spring cleaning! I am using my computer more and more
for my creative outlet.  Mandala making has become
a way for me to focus on using my Paint Shop skills
in a meaningful and personal way. I use photos I've taken
and alter them into mandala forms.
The basic form is a square with four gates
containing a circle with a center point.

The mandala is used in various spiritual traditions as a teaching tool,
establishing sacred space, ans as an aid to meditation.

In common use, mandalas have become a symbol for a microcosm
of the universe and its infinite possibilities.

The images that are created offer me inspiration and
grounding. A place to incorporate what I love,
what I desire, and what the universe offers.

Each one is quite different from the others! You are obviously enchanted with the process.
