I'm a great believer in John Lennon's quote
"Life is what happens when you're making other plans."
Such is the case for the accidental monoprint that happens when
I am diligently focused on making "ART" and I use lots of paper
to blot up paint on a canvas in order to provide some immediate texture
or to "smooth out" with a brayer a layer of too much paint.
I've got so many of these pages that are so much more interesting
than anything I could ever make on my own!
I've started to save some of my favorites in hopes of making collage.
Life in the studio is often lonely and silent, and so the uplifting surprise
can sometimes make the day, especially when the canvas at hand is going nowhere
anytime soon!
I made this digital collage from an assortment of accidental thumbs up wonders!
If only I could paint like this!
I will be away for a couple of weeks. Good creative surprises everyone!

Oh Marie, the same thing happens here. I often look at the palette or the edges of a painting and wonder how!
