Call it resonance, harmony, or serendipity,
I find it interesting when images in my studio,
photos, and paintings all seem to be following
a theme or direction of which I am unaware until I see them
all together. The photo above is a waxed paper
scrap with black gesso markings.
This a photo of a wall of shuttered shadows
I took earlier this week.
And this is a painting I finished yesterday.
It is on a 30/24 wood panel, gesso, acrylics & charcoal pencil.
It almost seems as if I had to see the two images above
before I could paint this, although they are all
very different, the gray colors and lines seem to connect somehow.
I titled the painting Le Cave. A place I paint from time to time.

I love your studio quote from the other day...and envy the way you can finish a large piece of work in just one day. You are a very brave woman and I honor you. Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
Your painting is strong and draws me in. I'd like to see farther into that cave!
Thanks so much Mary Helen!
Carole, Yes, I would love to go farther into the cave also! I just may one day.
