To Choose

To Choose, 22x30 on board,
gesso, pastels, arcylic, mixed media sewn cut-outs

To choose the road less walked,
a horizon newly framed,
to pick the unknown
response out of pockets
long sewn shut.
To choose  the inquisitive mind,
the fragile heart that must be broken to know itself,
and the wise deep voice that says move on,
move on.
To choose interiors
over surfaces,
to know the outline and the empty space,
the signs, the climates.
To be there all at once,
to go from each to each fresh
and empty,
to release
room to room
what might belong.
