White Moon Rising

I recently came upon a stack of 8by10 mats
with 4by7 openings
that I'd squirreled away a long time ago.
The dimension appealed to me when
I saw them and the price was right (clearance).
But I never could find  either a print
or miniature painting to fill the space
until I began working with my stitched collages.
My goal was to "pack a punch"
in a very small space.
The above, White Moon
and the following Rocky Mountain High
both utilize more of my painted cutups
from old work and machine stitching.

Here's hoping that everyone
has a colorful, creative weekend!

Im back after a prolonged absence and love the stitching you're incorporating into your pieces here Marie! Love the extra dimension and texture it brings. So glad you have reopened the comments section again, I enjoy leaving one as I peruse the blog!

Marie, you achieved your goal.....you "packed a punch."
Isn't it great to use something that you've squirrelled away and then to have it turn out so beautifully!

Thanks Carole! I'm always happy when something finds its match. Sometimes it's just a long time coming.

Just enlarged your two works and they're wonderful. The colors work so well with the texture created by your stitching! Just great!

Thanks so much Jill. These small pieces don't photograph very well, but they are full of texture & lots of different paper altering techniques.
