Saturday Morning

Every morning the first thing I do is go downstairs to my computer with a cup of coffee. This is the view outside my window. Today I just had to go outside before reading email to take some photos. (Still in my pajamas!)

I have several flower beds, but my favorites are those dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi. (He is the patron of my gardens and is honored by the Catholic Church as the Patron of Ecology.) I love his beautiful Canticle of the Sun which is a wonderful song of praise to Brother Sun and Sister Moon, Brother Wind and Air, Brother Fire, and Sister Mother Earth. St. Francis loved flowers above all things in nature and saw them as the most manifest reminder of creations praise of the Creator.

Here is my little garden where my kitty, Cecilia, is buried. St. Francis keeps her company. (See the little statue above the flower pot?)

My studio is in the distance across the yard which is in its glory in hundreds of shades of green.

Here is a close up of the side of my studio. (I am on second floor. B's workshop is on ground level.) I will take you on a tour of the inside next post.

A huge thank you to Caterina Giglio over at Bell'Antico! Discovered that I won her recent French Brocante Giveaway after I had posted this morning. (Cat also has another blog, La Dolce Vita. Both are wonderful, inspiring, and always gorgeous! She has a terrific and well deserved following.) I am just sitting here with a huge grin! Thank you Cat!
