
I have always loved coloring Easter eggs. As a child there was something magical about dropping a "color pill" into a teacup filled with hot water and vinegar and then rolling a boiled egg around until it was transformed into hues of brightest turquoise, sunshine yellow, robins egg blue, or sassy rose. My mother would set them on cellophane grass around her biggest round silver tray with jelly beans and chocolate covered marshmallow bunnies.
Over the years I have cut back on coloring the eggs and make "arty" eggs instead. The eggs in the crocheted basket are wood painted a metallic rose and covered with crocheted lace.
