BEFOREI have not had any studio time lately as I have been busy with family, friends and fall cleaning. Autumn has always been the season that compels me to pare down, clean out closets, get rid of over accumulated stuff. I still have not tackled the studio, but watch out!
Having said that, this past Saturday was the Artist Trading Cards (ATC's) October meet. The group was having an art materials exchange as well & I am embarrassed to say that I walked away with more stuff than I brought! The artists were giving supplies away so they wouldn't have to haul it back to their studios. Hard not to take advantage, which I greedily did! (Sigh.) I took away a silver frame that I vowed to use right away rather than squirrel it away somewhere.
The above photo is of my shrine wall that was beginning to be way too busy. It is a collection of photos, gifts, and paintings that I love, but I could not really focus on anything with the visual overload. So in the spirit of fall cleaning I took it all down & put back only what I couldn't live without.
AFTERMuch better! I created a much more peaceful place and I used the silver frame!

I agree about autumn - it seems like a beginning to me and I often clean now because we are going to be inside. Never mind spring cleaning - that's for the yard. Congratulations on your diligence.
Strangely enough I'm an Autumn cleaner and clearer of junk person too. Your wall certainly looks much less cluttered after the tidy up and the silver frame works a treat!
yes, I have to agree, throw it out and get ready for the big winter! I am going to clear out the studio soon too! you really did pare it down!!!
Truth is I like both the before and the after shot! Both look great to me.
I like both!
Marie, I don't know if you have already made contact to Sylvia, but I see you both have your e-mail links visible. I wish you both all the joy in the world with your swap, if there are any questions, please let me know!
Have a nice day!
