Inspiration

Studio shadows continue to inspire. I clarified this a little with Paint Shop which deepened the shapes that I find to be very beautiful. The kind of painting to which I can only aspire. Nature always holds the trump card!

I have been working with oil pastels and beeswax with mixed results. (The face I made with this technique is on the previous post.) I like the way the color melts into textured places, but it is a little like trying to "knead" the clouds. It is really a very instinctive process that pulls you way in. I don't think this piece is finished but I'm afraid if I add anything, it is going to dissolve everything else! This is the kind of unfinished painting that requires a long staring & listening spell. I hope it dosn't melt in the studio which has been super hot of late!

Well done!! The second piece has such an organic, natural quality.

Mmmm. oils and beeswax, yumm! LOL! Love encaustic play. It always leaves me wanting to reach out and touch the textures. Love both of these Marie. The contrast in the shadow piece is great too.
