Gray

It has been snowing here all  week. While we definitely need
the moisture, I am concerned about the trees and bushes that
had started budding. We didn't get to 30 degrees today.
I have been doing a little painting, but more digital art which
I have been enjoying.  The above was made from an altered photo
of  a vase of budding branches that I'd cut last week.

I have continued to explore abstract landscapes with oil and wax.
It seems that I've been captivated by grays a lot over the winter
and continuing. I like the depth and relief  that gray gives to  familiar views.
Gathering clouds merge and dissolve, foothills  wink away and then reappear.

As always I am very much enjoying looking at your work. And about the weather, I'm getting quite bored of all this snow we keep having...but it is good to have the much needed moisture.

Marie, I am really enjoying your blog and your art work. I hope your budding trees and bushes still flower after the frosts. We had a really cold week too. I noticed that the daffodils didn't have as many flowers as usual.
Also...I love to stand up when I work too. My husband made me two higher tables, one for encaustics and one for collaging. I still draw and watercolor paint sitting down though... Happy weekend to you.
