I am caught up on all the prompts from Judy Wise's oil and cold wax class.
Only one week left to go and I am missing it already. I've learned so many new ways to work with the medium and look forward to continuing to explore Judy's generous teaching.
The above painting uses a variety of the techniques from the class and is finished off with a sepia glaze. The most important thing I've learned is to go with the flow and not be afraid to expand and deepen a piece.
I used several dry pigment powders with this highly textured painting. The powders add a metallic dimension and create surprising effects. Instinctive play is most definitely a necessary element of this process.

Marie! These are stunning!
Thanks so much Carole! Taking a good class is such a great way to step out of one's usual limits!
Being "afraid to expaned and deepen a piece" has never EVER been a problem you have, Marie. Me: yes. But never you. You are fearless!
