I'm finally getting back to a regular painting
routine. It's the time of year when schools
start up again that I feel my creativity getting
in gear as well. I have been busy re- working
a painting that I had considered finished for months
until I realized it was an unfortunate palette
that had bothered me about it.
(Sometimes it takes awhile before a message gets through!)

So gesso, more molding paste to the rescue,
more paint, and a whole lot of scraping going on!
I actually enjoy this part of the process
when dry paint is flying and anything
is possible. I try not to look too closely at what
I'm "un-doing" but try to find a rhythm
to carry me through it. (Jerry Lee Lewis tunes?!)
This is the painting repainted and then scraped again.
It is large for me, (30"x24") and I am working it
in three sections. Whether it remains a triptych remains
to be seen.
This is a close up detail. I am loving the texture
and found markings.
Another one. Part of the process is taking
lots of photos of the parts I love as they may
soon be covered over. I can then use
the photos for altering or copying for
my collages.

I'll be posting about my progress with the painting
as it goes along, 'til then, rock on, I am!
