Now I Become

Now I Become Myself  (excerpt)
May Sarton

Now I become myself. It's taken
Time, many years and places;
I have been dissolved and shaken,
Worn other people's faces,
Run madly, as if Time were there,
Terribly old, crying a warning....

Now there is time and Time is young
O, in this single hour I live
All of myself and do not move.

I can't think of a more perfect illustration of May's poem, Marie. All that wearing of other people's faces - and in your case PAINTING all those other faces - I relate. I used to live all of myself regularly, but I can't say when the last time, or even moment, was that I lived all of myself. It's time to do it. To LIVE it.

Yes Paula, May Sarton's poetry on ageing is speaking to me more and more. I really like the digital image and the poem and really appreciate your "getting" it!

Love your collage here, Marie. Popped over to see your art after finding you in Buried Treasure.
