After The Dust Had Settled

Pearl Street, 30x24 canvas, acrylics, gesso, molding paste

After the dust had settled
and the old furniture carried up
the long staircase,
after the cats knew they were home
it was sundown, and
she walked with him to the town square
where bright music
spilled into spontaneous dancing
and folks seemed happy enough.

After that, the night walk back
was cobblestone steps and vague dreaming,
all bittersweet.

I love Pearl Street...and this painting speaks for your heart. The colors and bold brush strokes with textures adds to the dreamy effects. Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

Hi Marie, sorry it’s been a while. I haven’t had time to do a lot of commenting on blogs. Love the energy in this piece.
