So Long 2009

For me 2009 began with a flurry of creative energy and output. I finished two art journals in the first two months and (silly me!) thought that the pace and inspiration would just continue to flow all through the year! Of course there are many more days minus the thrill of "flow" when showing up at the studio and making what I can seems like an uphill effort.
Yesterday I took out the 4 journals I finished along with a portfolio of paintings and collages to see what I thought of my art work for the year and happily many of the pieces seemed like revisiting old friends. The photo above is the cover collage for my first art journal of the year: "My future's so bright, I got to wear shades" after the Timbuk3 song. (Might as well begin with as much enthusiasm and optimism as possible right? ) The journal is 9x12 with 18 pages.

Love journals! They are always such a positive place. Even when thrashing out the 'stuff' of life or art techniques that don't quite work, you learn from them! Love the quote Marie, I always liked that line! Here's to a new year full of journals jam packed with great pages for inspiration and creative outpourings!
